Rally at the Gap 2008

October 10-12, 2008

First of all I want to thank everyone who made it out. You can't have a rally without the people. It took a lot of work and preperation in order to get this thing off of the ground. Many of you seen I still wasn't quite done getting ready on Friday either. It's good to know the hard work paid off. I appreciate all of you who supported and thanked us for the work that a few good men pulled off. We had a few people say that it couldn't be done and we were crazy for trying. I want to thank the people who kept me in line and also kept the ball rolling when help was needed. First off I want to thank my Parents. Entry fees would have been $100 a person if it wasn't for his hard work pulling in sponsors. We also need to thank smoking for cooking and smoking, bringing neat toys to the rally, and much more. Second of all I would like to thank the Hiaumet family. Bill has been on top of the insurance and also taking care of the Forest Service paperwork so I didn't have to drive down to Mena. Anyone who has never been to a Hiaumet family dinner is missing out but luckly at the rally we even got them to cook for us. Another major player(s) was Ian and Heather. Thanks guys for running the show at the registration booth. The help was much appreciated. The final one I will mention are the crew who helped keeped the events flowing like Orval, Steve, Larry, and many others.

Rally At The Gap

The Rally had a pretty slow start on friday. Due to some last minute changes I had to start working quickly to change some stuff around. The day started off with Ed Fulton and Ronnie taking out the people who made it out for a trail ride around 3pm. Shortly after they got back we made sure that we had the food ready for the group which included burgers, brats, chips, BBQ beans, and all kinds of deserts. After everyone had dinner and a break we kicked off a night poker run around Wolf Pen Gap. The winners of that event were Heather and Brian. Heather who had the best hand picked the rally T-shirt over the soft atv luggage bag so Brian got the bag.

Prior to the events happening we had two groups go out on trail rides for most of the day and made it back to camp with Smoke Briscuit, BBQ Beans, chips, Dessert, and much more. After the events and after everyone started to settle down a good sized group headed out for a 75 mile night ride and we made it back at 3am. Sunday was a short day. Due to the amount of trail riding, poker runs, mud events, drag races, barrel races, ATV sled pulls and much more everyone seemed a little tired and ready to hit the road sunday so it was a pretty short day.
I am proud to report that after a whole weekend of camp ground use we only picked up two wal-mart bags worth of trash from the entire camp. THANK YOU to all of the campers and rally goers who kept the campground clean. I hope you all had fun and I hope to see you again next year!
